Yield Monitor 2000
Modular Tractor Kit Instructions
Ag Leader Technology
June 1997
5-5
Introduction
The following pages contain descriptions of the parts you can choose from
to install your monitor in a tractor or other vehicle for site verification or
application rate mapping. Refer to the examples of typical parts to order for
your particular application and then consult your Ag Leader dealer, complete
the included order form, and return it to Ag Leader Technology.
Monitor Mounting
Brackets
Window Mount Bracket. This bracket attaches to a window with three
strips of self-adhesive Dual-Lock (separable, like Velcro, but made of rigid
plastic). The window must be flat and it should not open. The window
mount bracket rotates the monitor box 30 degrees out from the window, to
produce a better viewing angle when mounted on a side cab window.
Ceiling Mount Bracket. This bracket is U-shaped and attaches to a surface
above, below, or behind the monitor box. Ag Leader Technology provides
1/4” self tapping screws and bolts to mount the bracket. You can also
fabricate a bracket to attach the monitor box to a cab corner post.
Tractor Cab Cable
The kit tractor cab cable is required if you plan to connect sensors, such as
radar, planter drive, or flow-meter signals, to your monitor box. If you
intend to do only site verification without measuring speed and area, you do
not need this cable. The tractor cab cable has only nine conductors,
compared with 25 on your combine cab cable, which decreases the cost and
the bulk.
Tractor
Distribution Cable
The kit tractor distribution cable is required if you plan to connect any
sensors, unless you can use a controller tee adapter, which contains all
connections in one connection to the tractor cab cable. If you intend to do
only site verification without measuring speed and area, you do not need the
tractor distribution cable.
Power Cables
If you intend to do only site verification without measuring speed and area,
buy the tractor auxiliary power cable or tractor battery power cable to
connect directly to the 25-pin connector on the bottom of the monitor. The
battery power cable is shipped with an adapter that connects it directly to the
monitor’s 25-pin connector.
