Yield Monitor 2000
Troubleshooting
Ag Leader Technology
June 1997 6-7
0 Flow in Bu/Hr
1. Elevator speed is 0 or erratic. Elevator speed must be between 250 rpm
and 600 rpm or there will be 0 flow in bu/hr.
Solution: Press the FLOW key speed until “xxx EL RPM” appears on
the display to check the elevator speed. Engage the separator and harvest
as you watch the elevator speed. The speed should be about 400 rpm
and not change erratically (e.g., jumps of 75+ rpm). If the elevator speed
is erratic or 0 or 600 rpm refer to the troubleshooting instructions for
“Elevator Speed Is 0 or Erratic”.
2. The Clean Grain Elevator has excessive paddle tip clearance at the top.
Solution: Check the paddle clearance between the tip of the paddles and
the inside of the clean grain elevator housing as the paddles rotate
around the top sprocket at the top of the grain elevator. If it is more than
1/2 inch (1/2 inch or less is ideal), readjust the top shaft of the elevator
and recalibrate by either eliminating the actual weights and entering new
ones and calibrating or changing grain types and entering new actual
weights and calibrating .
3. The C1 number (vibration calibration number) is too high and is
eliminating the pounds of grain.
Solution: Press the GRAIN key to display the C1 number. If it is above
250, set it again by following the instructions in the Vibration document
in the Calibration section. If it is still too high, check the flow sensor to
ensure that it is mounted securely, then reset C1. If C1 still too high, set
it at 250 and leave it.
4. The calibration numbers (press the GRAIN key) are set to zero.
Solution: Press the GRAIN key to display each calibration number, C2
through C11 (C1 is vibration). If any of the C2 through C11 calibration
numbers are set to zero, use the bottom-left UP or DOWN ARROW
keys to set them to the values on the initial calibration sheet for that
grain type. Then, calibrate the monitor for grain weight and the C
numbers will automatically be set to their correct value.
5. The cab, distribution, or flow sensor cable connection is bad, or the flow
sensor is bad.
Solution: Press the FLOW key to check the “OF=xx” and “MN=xx”
MX=xx” values. The MN value should be between 10 and 45 and the
MX value should be between 35 and 150 while you are harvesting. The
OF value should be between 60 and 100 and should never change while
the separator is running at full speed with no grain flow or with a grain
flow.
