Troubleshooting
Yield Monitor 2000
Ag Leader Technology
June 1997
6-6
12.The flow sensor or the stainless steel deflector plate is installed
backwards, and the grain is not hitting the flow sensor.
Solution: On some combines, the flow sensor or the curved stainless
steel deflector plate can be installed backwards. Take the flow sensor out
and examine how it was installed. If your yield monitor kit was shipped
with an elevator deflector plate, examine how it is installed. Refer to the
installation instructions for the correct installation.
Install the curved stainless deflector with the curve against the back of
the elevator housing where the paddles are bringing up the grain. Install
the flow sensor so that the grain coming off of the paddles hits the impact
plate (plate with curve at one end that attaches to the black load cell) at
approximately a 90 degree angle (for Deere 9x00 and Claas combines,
the grain will hit the impact plate at an angle of 25 to 30 degrees)
13.“EXPAND BU BELOW STD%” (press the SETUP key) is set to YES.
Solution: If “EXPAND BU BELOW STD%” is set to YES, any grain
you harvest below the DRY % value (press the GRAIN key) will be
increased to the DRY % value (instead of being reduced) before your
yield in bu/ac is calculated. This makes the yield in bu/ac higher than the
bu/ac calculated on the bushels from the elevator if the average moisture
of the grain is below the DRY %. This most often occurs in soybeans
where the moisture often is below the DRY %. You may want the
monitor to increase the bushels to the DRY % value to accurately
compare the yields of different soybean varieties. Use the top-right UP or
DOWN ARROW keys to change this setting to NO or YES.
Yield in Bu/AC
Always 0
1. 0 flow in bu/hr.
Solution: Refer to the troubleshooting instructions for “0 Flow in
Bu/Hr”.
2. You are not counting acres.
Solution: Press the AREA key to display acres. If you are not counting
acres, refer to the troubleshooting instructions for “Not Counting
Acres”.
